Compilation CD of global electronica accompanies 12 minute art/docu experience on the sacredness of Fire
Created on a recent journey to Iran, Persian filmmaker Sahar Faramanfarmaian used an organic, collaborative process to make “Initiation,” a short film that serves as a positive admonition, an incantation and a prayer to end all barriers to world peace. Enhanced by the latest high definition technology with the vision of helping humanity in a time of global uncertainty, “Initiation” is driven by a mystical soundtrack, composed by Joshua Penman, created to persuade both viewer and listener to remember the sacredness of Fire.
Accompanying the film is the CD “Incantation”, produced and sequenced by music supervisor Joshua Jacobs and Sahar Farmanfarmaian. From Persian electronica and Turkish flutes to Tibetan monks and Ayahuasca chants remixed, world music lovers and aficionados will be quick to recognize names like Michael Franti & Spearhead, Omar Faruk Tekbilek, Mercan Dede, Stephen Kent and Maharaja. Spanning the gamut of acoustic and electronic music, “Incantation” sonically invokes the spirit of a growing community of musicians seeking harmony through song, with the end result an enchanted journey through future and ancient music.
One of the four classical elements, Fire was once considered sacred by all ancient cultures. “We have forgotten what Fire meant to our ancestors,” Sahar says. The Spirit of Zarathustra inspired the creation of a series of Fire rituals, awakening the voice of the feminine essence of Fire: the images, narration, and music that comprise “Caravan of Light.”
Drawing from a rich catalog of global-minded artists, “Caravan of Light” uses image and music as a means for social and spiritual connection, merging powerful artists of many Diasporas into one unified culture.
Embedded within the soundtrack of Caravan of Light is an inaudible frequency, the ancient sound of the Zobet. This frequency encoded in sacred texts helps us access our divine DNA blueprint at anatomic level and bring it to conscious awareness.
